Gene/Sam

Gene Hunt, Sam Tyler and i go way back. Gene/Sam is the first slash ship i boarded and they were the subject of the first slash fanfic i wrote. I am a massive fan of Life On Mars and Gene/Sam are my first and truest slash love. And it helps that Philip Glenister and John Simm are both absolutely gorgeous! It doesn't take too much imagination to slash Gene and Sam, given their on screen relationship and the ever presence of Gene's pet names for Sam - Gladys and Dorothy.

When Life On Mars begins Sam is very much the new boy in town...who Gene instantly takes a shine to. See how he cannot wait to get him into his office!

...and thrust his body upon his.

Sam is not so sure at first but he soon realises they have alot in common. Their body language for starters...

And they both enjoy a good drink.

Sam tries to teach Gene how to be a better man and this means lots of time alone in the office long after the working day is over.

Gene trusts Sam to get him out of sticky situations. And into them. But we'll get to that later.

Soon Sam realises that he likes to spend time with Gene. Close to Gene. Handcuffed to Gene.

And so he begins flirting with Gene by touching his elbow...

And Gene responds by touching Sam's elbow...

Twice...
And so they shift the relationship up a gear and engage in LOTS of eye fucking.

Then one night, working undercover in a pub, Sam takes the definitive step to have Gene. Because boy does he want him.

And Gene wants him too.

But Gene wants to do things properly so he courts Sam. He takes him to the pub...

And then he takes him to a club...

He also enjoys teasing Sam, giving him an insight into the delights still to come...

And he likes to touch Sam's bum at inappropriate times...

Gene likes to show Sam his weapon...

And Sam likes to show him his! (Gene is impressed)

Gene decides enough is enough and tells Sam he is ready for him...

Sam cannot get him out of the station fast enough!

They like to play rough.

Gene likes to be the dominant one...

But occasionally lets Sam have a go...

Though at heart they are both hopeless romantics and Sam is never afraid to show it...

Gene loves Sam being a soppy git but he doesn't like other people trying it on...

Their favourite place to meet in is Gene's car for Cortina!sex.

They particularly enjoy the back seats...

And even once had a go in the boot...

(It was a disaster, they couldn't both fit in!)

They do enjoy other places, variety being the spice of life. Including...

The Gents...

Lifts...

Cells...

Late night at the office...

And even in the hospital!

They also enjoy the odd game of chase...

Occasionally they have a disagreement and they both sulk for a while.

But ultimately they are not only lovers, they are best friends.

...and partners in crime.

Gene would do anything to protect his Sammy boy.

He would even kill for him.

Indeed, he saves his life twice - in 1:2 from nasty Kim Trent and in 1:3 from nasty Derek Bannister.

Sam would also do anything to protect his Guv.

And when Gene is accused of murder Sam is the only one Gene trusts. For the first time they try sleeping together in an actual bedroom!

How very domestic...

Sam would do anything for Gene.

Anything...

Because ultimately they love one another. True love.

And they live together, happy ever after, in 1973. Having lots of Cortina!sex.
